"no name" white GSD boy near cleveland...

...was what his headline on the urgent board of germanshepherds.com said. he was a beautiful boy, everybody agreed about that...who wore a smile on his face in his pound picture, and a tag which read #411, although he immediately became known on the shepherd board as "mr." no name. he had a presence. even the pound workers said he was a great dog, and were trying hard to find a home for him. but sadly he was hw positive, and it seemed that even his exceptional beauty and good-natured, happy personality might not be able to overcome the responsibility and expense involved in adopting him. days passed, rescues were contacted...all were full, all were without funding to commit to a heartworm positive dog. time was not on his side. then... in an extraordinary chain of events which all took place within 72 hours...a safe place for him to go materialized, heartworm treatment was secured and assured, pull and overnight was arranged... and transport happened...cleveland to toledo to angola to southbend to gary/hammond to gurnee, illinois, where he met his foster (for now) mom, and then continued on home to milwaukee. along the way he became "white paws' harley d" big and beautiful, just like the bike! thank you maureen for having "room at the inn".

on his way to a new life...

first stop near toledo with two of his road "angels"!

thank you to...

...greg from cuyahoga county pound, who worked on behalf of "mr. no name" from the beginning...karee ann/echo volunteer, who sent the original e-mail to...deb at dog's hope, who sent it to...raysmom, who posted the e-mail and first brought him to the attention of the urgent section of the board...to all the people who commented on his great beauty and kept him at the top of the list until myoung couldn't resist...to katieliz for all her help...and...thank you to nancy of white paws, for the umbrella to work under...suncrazelady for pulling him and starting him on the road...raysmom, muttnut5, cindym, and faith, for the rest of the ride home...and, most of all, thank you to maureen for giving him a safe place to go.
